FINA Diving Grand Prix 2015 –Puerto Rico

FINA Diving Grand Prix (Puerto Rico) 2015 was held from 16th – 19th April 2015 at the San Juan Natatorium Aquatic Complex at Parque Central, Santurce. 74 divers from 17 countries competed in this event in which Singapore sent 5 of our national divers as well as 2 of our FINA listed judges, Lim Jia Yan and Cheong Kai Ting. Countries that were involved include Egypt, Malaysia, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, China, United States, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Dominican Republic, Japan, Belarus, Jamaica, Poland, Columbia and Sweden.

On day 1 of the competition, our girls, Kay Yian and Ashlee, participated in the Women’s 3M Springboard Preliminary round with 19 other divers. Kay Yian came in 13th place with a score of 235.80 whereas Ashlee finished with a 21st placing scoring 182.60.

Day 2 of competition: We have Timothy and Mark Lee taking part in the Men’s 3M Springboard Preliminary round. They came in 19th & 22nd position out of 25 participating divers and obtained a score of 318.45 and 293.55 respectively. Moving on to the next event, we have Freida participating in the Women’s Platform Preliminary round. She finished with a 15th placing among the 16 divers with a score of 221.10.

On the 3rd day of competition, Timothy and Mark Lee competed in the Men’s Synchronized 3M Springboard Finals. They finished with a 7th position and a score of 322.98 out of the 8 pairs.

Coming to the last day of the competition, our girls Synchro pair, Kay Yian and Ashlee competed in the Women’s Synchronized 3M Springboard Finals. They came in 8th out of the 8 teams participating, scoring 210.03 as a team.
