This programme is for Singapore Citizens only.

Duration: 12 weeks, twice a week (Sat and Sun), 1.5 hours/session

Learning the Basics

Our National Talent Identification Programme begins with a 12-week basic diving training programme. Starting from March 24th, participants will learn the basics of diving under the watchful eyes of our national coaches. Stretching, strength and conditioning exercises will be introduced, before moving on to simple gymnastic moves such as forward rolls and jumps on exercise mats.

Students move on to jumps from poolside and 1m boards into the pool. Water exercises such as underwater roll and handstand will also be introduced.

More difficult skills are taught progressively as the students gain competency at each level.

At the end of the 12-week programme, students will have achieved the ability to do at least a half sommersault dive from 1m. Quick learners may even progress to 3m or 5m heights!

Talent Identification

Students with special attributes for competitive diving will be invited by our National Coaches to join the National Talent ID programme. This competitive training programme will see divers go through a rigorous regime of 12-20 hours per week of competitive training. (Who says becoming an Olympic diver is easy?)

Alternatives
