2nd Singapore Diving National Championships 2011 – Report

Singapore’s very first diving national championships was successfully held over the weekend (19-20 February 2011) at Toa Payoh Swimming Complex. The event saw a total of 34 divers in Singapore competing in the Age Group, Junior & Open events. The athletes come from the National Junior Squad, National Development Squad, and Aerotumblers Diving Club, our one and only diving club in Singapore at the moment. A wide range of divers were present, from beginners as young as 10 years old to more experienced divers like Timothy Lee and Myra Lee, who both competed in the Youth Olympic Games 2010.

In addition, a Level 1 category event was introduced in this competition, to allow and encourage the beginner divers from Aerotumblers ‘Learn To Dive’ Programme to compete. Kimberly Chua was the winner of the 0.6 & 1m Springboard Girls Level 1 event with a score of 100.35, and Eugene Seah won with a score of 92.25 in the Boys category.

Once again, we would like to thank all the divers for participating, parents and supporters for lending your support, and all officials, organising committee members and volunteers for helping to make this event a success!
